Polder system was chosen because in the future plan, a sea dike will be built on the north coast of Tugu Sub-district, Semarang City, Central Java so that to drain water from rivers which empties into the north coast of Tugu Sub-district, Semarang City, Central Java, it is necessary to build polder. The components contained in the polder are the polder pool and the drainage system that planned to use pumps. The polder designed to accommodate 50-year-return-period flood. The planning process begins with analysis of the study location at the estuary area of Beringin River, Tugu Sub-district, Semarang City, Central Java. Then hydrology analysis is carried out to process rainfall data into flood hydrograph. Also conducted sedimentation rate prediction analysis to predict how much sediment will enter the polder pool. Then tidal analysis is performed to determine the highest tide and the lowest tide. Hydraulic analysis is done to make simulations in several scenarios which in this study there are 5 scenarios. Then the best scenario is chosen based on aspects of flood reduction and cost aspects. The selected scenario is scenario B by making a polder pool and drainage using 6 pumps with a capacity of 5 m3/s/unit. The next stage is to determine the guideline of operation and maintenance of pump, pump house and polder pool so that the polder system can function properly until the specified service life. Calculation of the bill of quantity carried out to obtain a draft budget. The total cost needed to build the polder is IDR 105.533.512.200. text
