Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II International Airport Passenger Terminal is located in Palembang City, South Sumatra. The airport has an existing terminal building on the site. The building area is 34,000 square meters and the capacity is 3.2 million passengers per year. The terminal building will be developed into a passenger terminal of 88,300 square meters with a capacity of 5.2 million passengers per year and has direct access to the airport's LRT station in the first phase. Designing an airport terminal building, the main issues are about the local context, circulation, and long span structure. To answer the issue, the concept is to design airport passenger terminal with Palembang local context and has flexible spaces so that it can develop in accordance with the demands of the capacity and integrated with other transportation.
