Description
Summary:Nurul Kalam mosque is a building for religious and educational event which consist of 3 main floors and 1 basement, built in Pemalang, Central Java. This final project focuses on design of pile foundation and retaining wall for basement excavation along its supporting system. In general, the stages of this design divided into two steps, first is the design of bored pile foundation and second is the design of retaining wall. Bored pile and configuration foundation will distribute the joint force from the coloumn to the soil beneath the structure. The method for axial capacity of single pile calculation is static method formulated by Reese & Wright. Meanwhile the lateral capacity was determined using ENSOFT LPILE program and analysis of group pile foundation were done by using ENSOFT GROUP program. The result from group pile analysis are deformation and forces for foundation system and each piles. The last step is determining reinforcement for pile foundation and tie beam based on pile’s forces. The reinforcement requirements were calculated using PCACOL program and manual calculation. The retaining wall in this project used temporary sheetpile using steel material. Temporary sheetpile used if the depth of excavation less than 5 meters. The process retaining wall design is determined the depth of penetration with manual calculation and choose the material property of steel sheetpile. Based on that depth of penetration, using PLAXIS 2D program the deformation and safety factor of the sheetpile would be obtained. The next step is stability of various type of failure such as basal heave and upheave.
