INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/39745 On the basis of implementing vibroseismic stimulation method to increase oil production, this said method is known to be able to be combined with other enhanced oil recovery (EOR) method such as chemical injection, steam, and gas injection to earn a more optimal oil recovery. This paper is a laboratory study to scrutinize the possibility of applying the combination of polymer flooding with vibroseismic stimulation. Experiments were carried out on synthetic cores that had been waterflooded to achieve waterflood residual oil saturation ( ). Two displacement mechanisms were tested under vibroseismic stimulation, namely injecting fluid (brine or polymer) simultaneously and sequentially. This test was done in order to achieve alternative displacement mechanism that is useful in the oil field in a particular condition. Furthermore, the two parameters normally concerned in petroleum industry were observed, namely residual oil saturation (Sor) and oil recovery factor (RF). In addition, three types of different-viscosity oil samples which are low, medium, and high, with viscosity value of 0.84 cp, 11.23 cp, and 39.78 cp, respectively, were used to correlate oil viscosity with vibroseismic stimulation performance result. Laboratory experiments consistently showed that polymer-vibroseismic stimulation can obtain larger reduction in up to 10.595% and an increase in up to 8.57% compared to the result of brine-vibroseismic stimulation. Analyzing the two types of displacement mechanisms during the stimulation, it appears that simultaneous displacement mechanism provides better results, with a difference in reduction ranging from 2.62% - 3.48% compared to the sequential displacement. Moreover, sensitivity analysis of oil viscosity showed that vibroseismic stimulation presents the most optimum results by using oil sample with relatively moderate viscosity, which is around 11.23 cp. In addition, other results show that polymer flooding can further increase oil recovery in the application of vibroseismic stimulation carried out on high viscosity oil sample. text
