Description
Summary:Underwater pipes are one of the many methods used to channel natural resources from the location of exploitation to land. Installation of subsea pipes must be carefully planned. Before installation, a route survey is needed to determine the corridor boundary of the pipe installation area and also to identify bathymetry in the area to be installed underwater pipes. Determination of the underwater pipeline corridor is carried out by analyzing data from processed MBES data in the form of contour maps of the study area and Digital Terrain Model (DTM). From the results of processing, it can be concluded that there are three corridors for pipe installation with length of 784,243m; 915,917m; and 927,721m. Corridors are formed in such a way to avoid the main problems in the installation of subsea pipes, namely obstruction due to objects such as corals, debris, subsea construction, and other potential hazards. To increase confidence in the design of the corridor of installation of subsea pipelines, measurements are needed using other survey tools such as Side Scan Sonar, Sub-Bottom Profiler, and Magnetometer.
