Summary: | Shopping center in Quinine Factory cultural heritage areas is Kimia Farma Project with land use as
the background. Shopping center in this case is lifestyle center that has open air configuration. Based
on Quinine Factory history and context, lifestyle center raised the theme of health. The theme is
derived into three aspects: healthy lifestyle behavior aspect, physical aspect in people movement , and
economic aspect in the form of retail products and health services.
Lifestyel center has a 21.125 m2 land area and 27.400 m2 building area. The building has six floors
and three basements. The facilities are not only retail, food and beverages, and entertainment in
general but also sports, wellness, and healthcare facilities.
Lifestyle center design as a new building considering the exsistence of heritage building beside it
that serves as a quinine museum. The atmposphere space, transitional space, and building façade
become an important aspect in this design so that new buildings can blended with the old buling.
Although the lifestyle center has a contrast concept, but still pay attention to the lines of proportion
and repetition that exist in the old building so that form a unity on the site. Lifestyle center as a
background during the day but becomes a bright light for the old building at night. |
