Summary: | Waste is leftover material from production and it may contain hazardous or toxic substances for the environment and health. In addition to being disposed, there are actually many ways that can be used to utilize textile waste. Textile waste can be used as a material to manufacture fashion products, in this case fashion products for menswear.
In this project, fabric waste is processed using surface design techniques to create burnt effects, inspired by protective gear. The surface design techniques used are tie dye, sewing, hot textile, and applique techniques.
Those techniques have been carried out to produce various burnt effect images. These effect images are then applied on 4 different looks according to the trend of 2020, Dystopian Fortress with colors of that tend to be brown and gloomy. The target market of these products are the younger generation who are aware of sustainability issues. |
