Port is designed to operate at 20000 DWT. Area of the port consist of reclamation area for port’s facilities, wharf, dan trestle. This final project focuses on the design of reclamation’s earthwork, foundation design of the wharf, trestle, dan warehouse, and geotechnical design of the breakwater. Reclamation’s area is estimated to be around 22 ha, with design elevation at +6.5 m from the seabed. To improve the soil’s capacity at the reclaamtion’s area, five layered bamboo mattress is going to be used at the slope of the reclamation and PVD for the entire area of the reclamation. The earthwork will be started from the sea side of reclamation until it reach +4.5 m from the seabed and will be continued with 20 cm/ week of backfill. The slope’s safety factor has meet the minimum safety factor for construction, service, and earthquake condition. The foundation of wharf and trestle is a driven steel pipe pile with 660 mm outside diameter and 11.9 mm thickness. Depth of piling is at 23 m for the wharf structure and 27 m for the trestle. Lateral deformation on wharf and trestle is calculated by Group8 and SAP2000 software and has meet the maximum allowable lateral deformation for maritime structure. The foundation of warehouse is a shallow foundation with 50 cm thickness and applied at 1.5 m depth from surface. there are four types of foundation’s dimension with the same thickness for optimization purpose. Breakwater is designed to use bamboo mattress and bamboo pile to increase the soil capacity. The bamboo mattress will be seven layered and each bamboo pile will consist four bamboo with 10 cm diameter. Prefabricated vertical drain (PVD) will be inserted in every bamboo pile to accelerate the consolidation process. The slope’s safety factor has meet the minimum safety factor for construction, service, and earthquake condition. text |
