APPLICATION OF AROMATIC RATTAN ON LAMINATED RATTAN PRODUCTS

Rattan products began to develop along with findings such as rattan boards resulting from rattan laminates. In this study, the author intends to develop the advantages of rattan material in addition to things that are already known in general such as the elasticity of rattan material or rattan material has the advantage of its light weight is lighter than other natural materials, but in this study the author tries to raise an advantage rattan material than other natural materials such as bamboo and wood, namely rattan material can absorb liquids better than wood or bamboo material. Because the physical structure of rattan is a collection of fibers that have pores that can absorb water well. That advantage will be raised in this study with aromatherapy as the subject. The main objective of this study is to replace aromatherapy wax products which are considered to be detrimental to health if they are inhaled too long, especially in spa places which are filled with aromatherapy candles which when burned release harmful chemicals such as benzene and loluene both are carcinogens that can increase lung cancer risk in a person. Therefore in this study the author tries to take advantage of the advantages of rattan material in absorbing aromatherapy oil without having to use wax which is considered harmful to the body, and also as an effort to develop rattan products.
