Summary: | Bakauheni Port is a ferry port located in South Lampung Regency, Lampung Province. Its location directly adjacent to the Sunda Strait has led to a progressive increase in the need for infrastructure to support sea transportation activities, both for passengers and goods. Hence, a landside facilities design for container port terminal is carried out. As for the passenger demand, a microsimulation analysis of the passenger movement at the passenger port terminal building is also done in order to evaluate its performance.
The design process of landside facilities for container port terminal aims to produce the layout and container yard pavement design. The layout design consists of several components, namely the number of berths, quay type and dimensions, container handling systems, container yard area, container freight station area, container handling equipment parking area. In addition, detailed design of pavement for the container yard area is also carried out by using the 1993 AASHTO standard for rigid pavement.
Microsimulation analysis of the passenger movement at the passenger port terminal is done by using VISSSIM software. The evaluated parameters include density, time in the queue, and queue length. These parameter are compared to the standard terminal facilities for passenger port terminal. |
