INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/40016 This research aimed to determine the influence size of Modular Tetragonula Hive to propolis and honey productivity by Tetragonula leviceps, as well as the influence of temperature, relative humidity, and light intensity in various hive size. T. laeviceps colonies were cultivated in Modular Tetragonula Hive with three different sizes particularly small (21 cm × 18 cm × 14 cm), medium (26 cm × 22 cm × 17 cm), dan large (30 cm × 26 cm × 17 cm), all equipped with sensors. Propolis was harvested every 2 weeks while honey was harvested at the end of the cultivtion period. Propolis was extracted with ethanol. The propolis extract and honey was analyzed to characterize its chemical components and properties. The results show that the hive size was directly proportional with productivity of propolis. Productivity of propolis particularly 1.12 ± 0.58, 1.60 ± 0.27, and 2.32 ± 0.39 g/colony/week for small, medium, and large hives. However, productivity of honey was not affected by hive size. Honey productivity from small to large hives are 0.08, 0.12 ± 0.17, and 0.35 ± 0.35 g/colony/week respectively. Temperature, humidity, and light intensity is not affected by the size of the hive. Total phenol and flavonoids of propolis in each hives varied, from 23.18±11.45-86.35±0.48 mg GAE/g extract and 1.34±1.15-6.54±6.97 mg QE/g extract. The harvested honey had 21.9% moisture content, 72.8% reducing sugar, 2613.4 ?g/mL active antioxidant, and 192.9 ?g/mL vitamin C. text
