Application of EOR technology gives an incremental in oil production, possibly around 5-30% from the initial value of recovery factor (RF) of only 20-40%. As the second most common EOR method after water flooding, polymer still has hindrance and limitation due to degradation and rheological problems. A new generation of polymer should be focused on its compatibility to be used in various reservoir conditions and the ability to anticipate thief zones that cause significant water production. Bright water coming as an improved polymer treatment that is developed to enhance sweep efficiency and control water production by diverting flow into less permeable zones. Also, it is a more versatile version of polymer in terms of various reservoir characteristics, including salinity and temperature. For determining the potential of the real field case in Indonesia of bright water injection, this study will present a design of optimum operational injection parameters in sandstone reservoir of “T” Structure at “S” Field. As “S” Field has similar issues with the fields that have been previously employed bright water injection, this method is expected to be successfully implemented. Bright water mechanism theory, which has been acknowledged in previous study and research is implemented and simulated to black oil model using tNavigator simulator. Furthermore, to create the optimum result of bright water injection, sensitivity and trend analysis are done for several operational injection parameters. The result of this study indicates that bright water injection gives better and promising performance compared to two other conventional methods which are water flooding and polymer flooding up to 18.84% incremental in oil recovery. The other impact of bright water injection on controlling water production is successfully achieved by 7.1% water production decremental. text
