Description
Summary:As global trade develops, countries in the world are competing to get the biggest profits by building land and sea infrastructure. One of them is Thailand which is planned to build the Kra Canal so that ships that sail from the Indian Ocean can go directly to the Gulf of Thailand and vice versa. This plan can, of course, win the Malaysian and Singapore international container ports because it will cut the Malacca Strait shipping lane. However, this plan can be utilized by Indonesia by preparing new ports. One of the ports that needs to be prepared is the Krueng Geukueh Container Port in Lhokseumawe, Aceh Province. This port is located in the Special Economic Area Zone near the entrance of the Kra Canal and directly facing the sea in the Malacca Strait. In this final project, an analysis of the layout of the development of Krueng Geukueh International Container Port will be carried out, which is based on the basic needs of port infrastructure and superstructure, shipping and load-unloading safety, and construction costs. The infrastructure and superstructure aspects will produce the initial layout of land and sea port facilities. Furthermore, the safety aspects of load-unload activities will be viewed from hydrodynamic conditions, which are waves and currents model using Delft3D.
