Lembang Active Fault Integration Assessment in Spatial Planning (Case Study : Lembang Detail Spatial Plan 2016-2035)

Indonesia is located at the intersection of three world tectonic plates, namely the Australian plate, the Pacific plate and the Eurasian plate. The movement of the three plates caused the formation of active fault, which further becomes a source for tectonic earthquake. Earth...

The movement of the three plates caused the formation of active fault, which further becomes a source for tectonic earthquake. Earthquakes have caused various adverse effects on human life. Therefore, it is necessary to build efforts to reduce the risk of active faults. One of them is through spatial planning. Areas where active faults are lied need to integrate active faults in the region's spatial planning. This research aims to look how far active fault has been considered at the assessment of spatial planning using parameters based on the stages of reducing the risk of active faults. The research takes a case study of Lembang's Detailed Spatial Planning in Lembang Subdistrict as an area which the lembang active fault is passed. The results of the analysis shows that the lembang active fault is capable to cause strong earthquakes so there is effort needs to reduce the risk of active faults in Lembang. The Lembang Spatial Detail Plan is not complete yet and need to be assessed more especially in the part of reducingthe risk of active faults in Lembang. The existence of a spatial plan that consider potential hazard of active fault, is expected to be able to create a safer space and reduce risks in the future. Therefore, this research is expected to be an input in perfecting the Lembang Spatial Planning Plan as an effort to reduce risk by utilizing information on lembang fault risk. text
