Regarding coal global demands, the Indonesian government aims to increase coal production and export. Thus, the infrastructure for coal transportation is needed. One of the requisite infrastructures is port, including the berthing structure. As one of the companies that engaged in the coal mining sector, PT Indexim Coalindo is planning to develop its port facilities to increase export. PT Indexim Coalindo's quarry located at Kaliorang, Kutai Timur, Kalimantan Timur. This bachelor thesis deals with the structural design of Port Development and Construction of the New BLC Dry Bulk Dolphin Berth with a deck on pile structure. The dolphin structure consists of three main structural components, namely loading platform, breasting dolphin, and mooring dolphin. The initial stage of designing this berth structure is collecting and processing the secondary data that consists of environmental data and port operational data. The results of the process will be used for preliminary design. Preliminary design of the berth consists of dimensions, horizontal and vertical load from environment condition, and operational activities. Then, structural modelling is done by structural analysis software to determine the reliability of the plan structure against the workload. The results of the modelling are unity check ratio (UCR), structural deflection, internal force, and the base reaction of the berth structural elements. The value of the internal forces will be used to design the reinforcement bar of the concrete elements. Then, only for loading platform upper structure, the structural elements will be redesigned using precast concrete elements due to the many advantages of the precast method construction. To design with precast concrete, there are three analyses that must be conducted. They are analysis in lifting condition, installation condition, and support condition. The precast element must be designed in such a way so it can become a monolithic structure when put together with other elements. The last step is the calculation of soil friction capacity and end bearing capacity to determine the depth of the pile erection so it is able to withstand the base reactions based on available geotechnical data. The final results of this bachelor thesis are the dimension of dolphin berth structure, dimension of structural elements,detail design of reinforcement bar, dimension of precast concrete elements for loading platform structure, and the depth of pile erection. text
