Summary:According to the Makassar City Spatial Plan for 2015-2034, Makassar City is planned to be Center Point of Indonesia with tourism and integrated business at the coastal area as the priority development.. The growth of tourism development in the Makassar City increase in the number of tourists by 38% in the last 5 years. This indicates that tourism is a leading sector and focus of the development in Makassar City. However, tourism is a sensitive sector toward natural disasters which is vulnerable to get damage or loss. On January 22, 2019 there was a flood in Makassar City and the flood has been categorized as the biggest flood in the last 1 decade. The flood certainly has an impact both directly and indirectly on economic activities in the Makassar City, including tourism. Therefore, this study aims to estimate the number of damage and loss of tourism elements due to flood in the coastal tourism destination at Makassar City on January 22, 2019 which can be used as the consideration in preparing tourism rehabilitation and reconstruction plan after disaster and as disaster mitigation evaluation in the Makassar City. This research was carried out by the method of observation and interview and by using spatial analysis and Damage and Loss Assessment analysis from ECLAC (Economic Comission for Latin and Carribean) on 5A Tourism Elements (attractions, activities, amenities, accommodation and accessibility). Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the tourism element that suffered damage was amenities, accesibilities and accommodation with estimated damage of Rp 858,400,000 while the tourism element that suffered a loss was attraction, amenity, accommodation and accessibility with estimated losses of Rp 2,126,700,000
