In the recent past, tuning of salinity of the injected water in sandstone reservoirs was used to enhance oil recovery at different injection modes. Modified sea water was also tested in chalk reservoir as tertiary recovery mode and as a result, it reduced the residual oil saturation. The need of low salinity water injection has widely been increased due to its low capital operating expense as compared to other enhance oil recovery methods. This study investigates affected parameters on low salinity water injection to oil recovery. There are three parameters that was demonstrated by this study. The three parameters are injection rate and production rate, salinity of injection water, ionic content in injection water. Beside that parameters, sequential dilution was also used in this study. Sequential dilution was a novel technique to improve oil recovery on low salinity water injection. Number of cycles and salinity pattern of sequential dilution was studied in this paper. The result show that the three parameters indicate to affect to oil recovery. Also, sequential dilution gives positive impact for this study.
