Herbal products are is widely used as alternative medication especially for cancer. However herbal medicine has been used without reliable scientific evidence and any mandatory safety and toxicity evaluation. Therefore, the objectives of this research are to study the knowledge level of herbal medicines towards cancers in Malaysian community and predict the toxicity of related compounds in herbal. The research was started with a questionnaire and it was conducted with validation before distributing to the community. There were 100 respondents which consists of 50 individuals in health and non-health background respectively. The results of the questionnaire were then used for selecting toxicity prediction. The collected data showed that the most commonly used herbal medicine for cancer treatment in Malaysia for non-health background individuals were Panax ginseng, Clinacanthus nutans, and Annona muricata. Meanwhile, individuals with health background have chosen Taxus brevifolia, Panax ginseng, and Annona muricata as the top used herbal medicine for cancer treatment. The toxicity of the compounds of these three herbal medicines were analyzed with ADMET Predictor. According to ADMET predictor results, we can conclude that all the three herbal medicines are suitable for cancer treatment and safe from phospholipidosis. Besides that, based on the data collected in the questionnaire, most of the responders are unclear with the toxicity of the consumed herbal medicine. Furthermore, the necessity of pharmacist to provide the toxicity information of herbal medications is important to the community. text
