Polymers mixed with water can increase the viscosity of water as an injection fluid so that it provides better swept efficiency compared to conventional waterflooding. One factor that determines the success of polymer flooding optimization is the mobility ratio. Mobility of fluid injection is controlled so that the mobility of injection fluid is attempted to be equal or smaller than fluid mobility to be displaced. However, when we want to use the mobility ratio as a determining factor for the implementation of the polymer flooding, it turns out there are many definitions of the mobility ratio in the world whose values can vary - even though the calculation parameters used are the same. In this study, the optimum value of the mobility ratio will be determined at various definitions so that this value can be used as a reference for optimizing the implementation of polymer flooding. And it will be compared the effect of using polymer flooding compared to conventional waterflooding in increasing oil recovery. This study was carried out using a homogeneous model so that parameters such as permeability, porosity, grid thickness, etc. are same at whole grid. Linear model is used for polymer and water mixing models. Simulation is done by using CMG IMEX software and RESULTS AND GRAPHICS CMG to see results and graphics from simulations. The results obtained show the optimum value of the mobility ratio that is different for each definition. On the mobility ratio defined by (Rosa et., al, 2006), the optimum mobility ratio is obtained at the value 0.35. In the mobility ratio defined by (Sheng, 2011), the optimum mobility ratio is obtained at 0.3. As well as in the definition of mobility ratio by (Gomaa, 2015), it obtained value at 0.4. Polymer flooding is very well used in the early stages of water flooding as a water injection mixture. The use of polymer flooding can increase about 10-14% in increasing oil recovery compared to waterflooding. text
