In addition, a diet can also be interpreted as regulating the amount of food consumed with specific purposes. One of the most popular ways of regulating diet among people is reducing or even eliminating the intake of some essential food ingredients. Nutritional deficiency will reduce the ability of the immune system which can be shown by the decrease in the phagocytic ability of macrophage cells. One of the most significant cause is the lack of consumption of macronutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Test animals in the form of female Swiss webster mice were randomly divided into four groups consisted of the control group, the low carbohydrate diet group, the low protein diet group, and the low fat diet group. On days 0, 7, 14, 21 and 30, the phagocytic index by in vitro method and body mass index were determined. On the 31st day, a phagocytic index by in vivo method (carbon clearance) and organ index were determined. The results showed that the low protein diet group had the greatest decrease in phagocytic ability as indicated by a decrease in the phagocytic index value of 31.52% and a decrease in the organ index value of 17.68%. The low carbohydrate and the low fat diet group experienced a decrease in body mass index and the low fat diet group that had the most different values than the control group. text
