STUDY OF IRRIGATION EFFICIENCY TO INCREASE CROPPING INTENSITY IN TECHNICAL IRRIGATION AREAL IN THE CIWIDEY SUB WATERSHED OF BANDUNG REGENCY
Technical Irrigation Area Ciwidey watershed is an irrigation area with an area of 1685 hectares. At present the cropping pattern implemented by farmers is Paddypaddy- secondary crops with a planting intensity below 250%. At present the cropping pattern implemented by farmers is Paddypaddy- secondary crops with a planting intensity below 250%. Availability of water at a certain time has a deficit, so it cannot irrigate the fields. For this reason, irrigation efficiency is needed in order to obtain optimal cropping intensity. This writing aims to examine efforts to increase the existing cropping intensity by regulating the planting system and the utilization of irrigation water optimally in accordance with the existing potential, so that it can increase agricultural production and implementation strategies in relation to the social conditions of farmers in the Ciwidey Sub watershed. Cropping intensity analysis is done by setting the cropping system through planting scheduling, increasing cropping patterns and setting the optimal irrigation water distribution to calculate irrigation water needs with consideration of the availability of water. The results of the analysis show that cropping intensity in the Ciwidey Sub-watershed Irrigation Area can still be improved by setting up the planting system. By changing the cropping pattern and the beginning of the planting period the cropping intensity produced can reach a maximum of 300%. For more optimal production and agricultural productivity in the Ciwidey Subwatershed Irrigation area, guidance and counseling for farmers is needed through farmer groups (P3A), as well as the provision of agricultural production facilities in a timely and in amount. text |

Technical Irrigation Area Ciwidey watershed is an irrigation area with an area of
1685 hectares. At present the cropping pattern implemented by farmers is Paddypaddy-
secondary crops with a planting intensity below 250%. Availability of
water at a certain time has a deficit, so it cannot irrigate the fields. For this
reason, irrigation efficiency is needed in order to obtain optimal cropping
intensity.
This writing aims to examine efforts to increase the existing cropping intensity by
regulating the planting system and the utilization of irrigation water optimally in
accordance with the existing potential, so that it can increase agricultural
production and implementation strategies in relation to the social conditions of
farmers in the Ciwidey Sub watershed.
Cropping intensity analysis is done by setting the cropping system through
planting scheduling, increasing cropping patterns and setting the optimal
irrigation water distribution to calculate irrigation water needs with
consideration of the availability of water. The results of the analysis show that
cropping intensity in the Ciwidey Sub-watershed Irrigation Area can still be
improved by setting up the planting system. By changing the cropping pattern and
the beginning of the planting period the cropping intensity produced can reach a
maximum of 300%.
For more optimal production and agricultural productivity in the Ciwidey Subwatershed
Irrigation area, guidance and counseling for farmers is needed
through farmer groups (P3A), as well as the provision of agricultural production
facilities in a timely and in amount. |
