Summary: | Indonesia, with its territory, which is predominantly ocean, has a strategic location and has a function other than as a connecting place but also saves a wealth of natural resources. However, there are a number of questions that arise in the implementation process such as one of them concerning sea pollution caused by oil spills. Although this is a problem, on the other hand, oil spills on the sea have aesthetically valuable visuals if applied. As a visual concept, the spill pattern taken in the ocean will then be explored in the ceramic field. Therefore, this study aims to produce ceramic products consisting of tableware that represents the visual of oil spills in the sea. This research is also expected to foster public awareness of oil spills, through criticism and education of the visual concept of works that are based on factual background requirements.
The manufacture of cutlery in this study uses marbling decoration techniques on the surface and body. Because in this study using stoneware soil and high-temperature glaze, heating was carried out at a temperature of 1220 ° C to 1240 ° C. Making it produce a visual apparatus that was lifted by an oil spill in the sea |
