Banjar Regency has been stated as a regency with the problem of unprogressive achievement for sanitation universal access target where Open Defecation practice (BABS) has become a priority concern, especially in slum areas. One of the efforts made to improve sanitation condition is by implementing SANIMAS program which emphasizes community involvement and empowerment, linear with the actualization of participation principle of sanitation rights. However, based on the evaluation study by the local government, it is indicated that several areas have low sustainability of SANIMAS system. Thus, this research is needed to identify the sustainability factors of the SANIMAS system in slum areas based on management characteristics of environmental, institutional, socio-economic, financing, and technical factors. Based on Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchical Process analysis, it is found that financial, technical, and environmental factors are priority factors in SANIMAS system sustainability while institutional and socioeconomic factors are not significant. However, based on each area characteristic, financial and technical factors are the weakest factors of sustainability. So, it is necessary to do the improvement of financial capacity and financial assistance by the government and also the improvement of facilities utilization level by community building strategies. text
