Summary:This economic growth cannot be denied in accordance with policies or rules that are made to regulate which local communities manage natural resources. These policies in utilizing natural resources to improve economic growth were not only seen during the period of independence, but had been seen since the days of colonialism. Although in the future there are interests from the parties included in assisting policies in managing and utilizing natural resources. These policy interventions ultimately affect people's lives from economic and social aspects. In the economic aspects of coconut farming it was finally made as the main livelihood. However, this does not eliminate the use value and benefits of coconut plants for the community, because the special community of the Kao Village community has made coconut as the main crop in daily life, different from different ones such as coffee, nutmeg or cloves. Therefore, it will be seen from where the meaning of copra is for the village community and whether it is limited to copra which has an important role or coconut plants, using ethnography, will be updated what the community means copra and coconut in their lives
