Magersari settlement area developed from Pesanggrahan Tamansari building which is the residence of sultan and family. This settlement is intended for the courtiers that guard Tamansari and now develop into a settlement densely populated. The development of this area does not directly contribute to the develop of cultural tourism in Pesanggrahan Tamansari and inclined to reduce image of the region as the residence of sultan, so the purpose of this research is the development of cultural tourism in the residential area of Magersari by re-imagining the area as the residence of sultan. Re-imagining the area to improve the quality of tourism. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with placemaking approach that was studying area based on image, activity and form of the area. The concept of cultural tourism development that re-imagines the region as the residence of the sultan. The drafting is done with two development zones of three development zones, namely core zone consisting of cultural heritage building, buffer zone consisting of magersari settlement and development zone consisting of tourist village.
