One of them comes from energy field which is to distribute electricity. One of the daily needs in cities is hard to be found available on border or underdeveloped region. Politeknik Batam with ITB wants to solve the the problem through Stirling engine. The design process is devided to four steps, which are clarification of requirement list, conceptual design, embodiment design, and detail design. This final project only cover until thermodynamical aspect in embodiment design. The main requirement of the engine is 1.5 kW of net power. Selection is made on configuration dan linkage mechanism to get optimum result. The result is a Stirling engine with beta configuration and sinusoidal linkage. Then optimation is done with involved variables such as hot temperature, dead volume, compression ratio, regenerator effectiveness, and starting pressure to get maximum efficiency. The engine specification and fuel consumption can be seen at BAB 4. A compact and powerful Stirling engine need high compression ratio and high starting pressure. As a result, material and hermetical seal is the main issue for next design process. text
