Summary:Sometimes, we knew the information from newspapers or television about explosion and fire in oil refineries and offshore oil production platforms. These occurred were as the impact of failed equipment. Certainly, the explosion caused any harmful effects related to safety, economic, and environment. Many factors that caused failure of the equipment, e.g. the condition of equipment which is not controlled well. The failure of an equipment can be prevented if the condition of equipment controlled by an effective inspection program. At present, there are some inspection methods used in industries, one of them is Risk Based Inspection (RBI) method, which is inspection program made according to risk level of the equipment being analyzed. RBI provides a consistent methodology for assessing the optimum combination of inspection methods and frequencies. The keys when we develop RBI program are ability to assess risk (risk assessment) related to equipment item and capable in choosing appropriate inspection methods. In this final project, risk assessment is done according to DNV-RP-G101 methodology. When calculating risk, assisting program is developed in screening level using Microsoft Excel 2010 while in detailed assessment level and inspection planning using PROMIA as software tool in assisting RBI program. Case study in this final project is done in gas production system, DPPA platform – Belida field. From the case study, risk results are dominated by safety risk and economic risk categories. The highest risk level is high for 3 equipments and 3 pipings. From the risk level, inspection planning can be made which consists of the time and inspection method. Inspection techniques which can be applied are spot ultrasonic inspection for CO2 -uniform corrosion, ultrasonic inspection scanning for MIC and aqueous corrosion, and visual inspection for atmospheric corrosion and insignificant.
