Load cell is an important component as load measuring tool in force platform. Force platform quality determined by load cell quality. This research will be carried out by designing load cell to be used on force platform. The research began with literature study to get information and references about load cell design, the force platform working principle, and the use of force platform in human gait analysis. The information is used to design the shapes of load cell, load cell’s dimensions, and load cell’s material. The load cell design will be simulated using finite element method software ANSYS 13© to analyze the design reactions to various types of loading. Double-parallel plate structure plus ring is used as basic form of load cell design. The design varied to three variations, they are Load Cell I, Load Cell II, and Load Cell III. Based on the analysis, Load Cell III is the best design. The load cell has the lowest coupling errors compare to other design. This load cell design is expected to be useful for further research text
