Description
Summary:Indonesia is rich in its diversity and uniqueness, one of them is its history of cities. Most cities in Indonesia come from the era of colonialization, in Dutch Indies rule in Indonesia. One of the most important city is Bandung. Bandung is the proud city of Dutch Indies government due to a lot of many events occurred in this city. Until today, this city still show us many evidence and identity of its history. Unfortunately, until now, significance treatment for all the historical content of this city is very low. Whether from Nation government or the citizen. As a result, most historical city in Indonesia has been in very prone to be historicless city. Today, Bandung is trying not to be it. We can see there are several attempt other than preservation, starting many new project that educate its citizen about the city’s history. Some of the is History Park, starting a Historical Tour of Bandung, and also the Bandung City History Museum. Its very uncommon to meet a facility that focusing in educating the city history ini Bandung. Therefore, Bandung Heritage Center is an effort to give an idea of it. Giving a function and space as a response to those attempt of many community and people in Bandung to save their city identity via its history. Facility such as museum, gallery, library, multi-purpose room, public space and other supporting facility help to fulfill this. With the concept, Complementing Time Through Space, this design is strongly attached with the preservation of heritage building and its heritage content as the evidence and object of the history itself.
