Summary:Malang Cultural Park is made to meet the needs of channelising the creativity of traditional art and as a place of cultural insights. Malang Cultural Park is initiated by the Government of Malang City and will be built in Malang, precisely on Jalan Mayjen Sungkono, Kedungkandang. This cultural park is designed with approaches that respond to the specific characteristic derived from traditional arts of Malang and East Java situated in the city of Malan; e.g. the art of Reog, Ludruk, Ketoprak, Wayang Kulit, Wayang Orang, and also traditional dance such as Beskalan, Grebeg Wiratama, Malangese Mask Dance and Remo Dance. By exploring the characteristics of these arts, the cultural park is designed and expected to revoke the spirit of Javanese culture, as well as a place for transferring insights about traditional Javanese culture and arts in Malang. This cultural park is built on an area of 45,000 m2 in which consists of several masses inside to meet the needs of typical arts of Malang and East Java in Malang, each of which has its own distinctive charracteristics of art. But the whole building and landscape still represent the whole Javanese culture in Malang.
