Description
Summary:Distribution of water is the main thing that is needed in human life. Various methods, from conventional to modern, are made to supply water from the source to the required place. One of conventional method use piping system while the more modern use an electric pump. Generally remote areas have problems due to a power source that is still an expensive item or limitations of the cost of purchasing the pump and maintenance. So the tools must have the driving source from nature. One of the pumping device that can be used is the hydram pump by utilize the phenomenon of waterhammer. PLN Bandung Workshop Unit has a scheme of hydram pump system that is useful to pumping water also serves as a driving turbine. Hydram pump perfomance is designed to pump with the flow at least and has a head of . Source of water supply has a height of from the pump. Pump design used is based on the Development Technology Unit from University of Warwick. Theoritical studies and simulations performed on two types of supply pipe diameter. Based on the results of theoritical analysis and simulation, the selected hydram pump is with supply pipe diameter dimensions of . Output pump flow is achieved to with the selection of assuming an efficiency of .
