Description
Summary:The development of technology and the growth of world population lead us to the increasing of oil and gas needs. Transmission pipeline plays important role for oil and gas industry. On-bottom stability and free span are some of design aspect that have to be fulfilled for pipeline system. In this final project, the analysis of on-bottom stability and free span caused by Vortex Induced Vibration (VIV) are done for subsea transmission pipeline of Terminal BBM Manggis, Bali. There are 4 pipeline with different fluids in each pipeline, that are: Premium, Kerosene-Diesel Fuel, and Avtur with diameter NPS 16”, and Marine Fuel Oil (MFO) with diameter NPS 10”. The analysis of based on DNV RP F109 to acquire the minimum concrete coating needed to fulfill the stability criteria for offshore pipeline. Hence the calculation and analysis of on-bottom stability are based on DNV RP F109, while the analysis of dynamic free span are based on DNV RP F105 and ASME B31.4. Beside that, the calculation for variated effecting parameter is conducted for those two aspect. The result of those calculations shows that, for pipe with fluids of Premium and Kerosene-Diesel Fuel, the minimum thickness of concrete coating needed is 59 mm and maximum allowable free span is 15 m. For pipe with fluids of Avtur, the minimum thickness of concrete coating is 57 mm and maximum allowable free span is 15 m. For Marine Fuel Oil pipe, the minimum thickness of concrete coating needed is 67 mm and maximum allowable free span is 11 m.
