Summary:Wind energy is one of the potential renewable energy which can contribute to the domestic electrical energy needs, especially remote areas. Electricity generation from wind energy is commonly called Pembangkit Listrik tenaga Bayu (PLTB) is pollution-free and the source of energy that the wind is available anywhere, the power plants of this type can answer environmental concerns and the availability of energy sources. In this thesis the author aims to create a program that can design and analyze the wind turbine rotor. The method used in making of this program is the blade element momentum method and the correction of which used is a correction factor of Prandtl, Glauert, and Spera. In the design of the wind turbine rotor, the design input variables varied to determine its effect on the size and profile of the blades, the result shows a different design input variables that affect the size and profile of the wind turbine blades while in the analysis of the wind turbine rotor, performed comparative analysis from a program created and the rotor test results, the comparison gives values close enough. The author hopes that this thesis and its programs can be beneficial as well as being the basis for the development of software design and analysis of wind turbine rotor next.
