Description
Summary:Hot box system using energy from exhaust gas in a motorcycle need to be improved to increase reliability, practical, and economic. This system uses heat pipe principle to transport absorbed energy from a muffler to box contained food. This reseearch is a part of development process for a system. Thus the hot box system become better. The latest hot box system is evaluated based on performance and reliability aspect, each component were checked, then component which still does not give maximum performance is being redesign to peform better. The new system resulted from this research had been established and applied in a motorcycle type Honda Absolute Revo 110 cc. Modification in condensor and technic of filling working fluid had been applied. The testing of this system give a satisfying result that observed based on heat transfer, user safety, and aesthetics. Increasing air temperature in the food box with a length of condensor 3.7 meter is 3.410C per minute or 104% from the latest research. Air temperature in the food box reach 700 C in 13 minutes and relatively steady in 1100 C in 45 minutes. This system also can hold food temperature in 640 C or decrease two degrees from the first food is served
