Therefore, revitalization is required. This project located in Jl. Diponegoro Jakarta. The site dimention is 13.000 square meters. On the
site, there’s an existing heritage building with Art Deco style, Metropole Cinema Jakarta. The clients of this project are Ministry of Education and Culture, Jakarta Art Council, Jakarta International Film Festival (JiFFest),and FIAF.
Inspired by urban context of the site and the existing heritage building, two main issues are chosen to guide the design process. The main issues are heritage and public spaces. These issues are solvedby two main concepts. The first concept is integration between old and new buildings and the second one is interaction with the surrounding environment. |
