Description
Summary:Sheeter machine has played an important role in the packaging industry, because of that, it is necessary to optimize the sheeter machine process. Sheeter process optimization can be achieved by the determination of the parameters in the sheeter machine such as pressure parameter, roll speed parameter and brake frequency parameter. Determination of the optimum parameters sheeter machine can be identified by designing the experiments. One method that the most reliable experimental design to determine the optimum parameters is the Taguchi method. Based on the optimization results using the Mean Taguchi Method and Variance Taguchi Method (ANOVA) showed that controllable factors in sheeter machine that has the greatest percent contribution are the roll speed resulted 82.76% of Mean Taguchi Method and 87.29% of Variance Taguchi Method followed by brake frequency resulted 7.08% of Mean Taguchi Method and 7.36% of Variance Taguchi Method. Based F-ratio test with 95% confidence interval, pressure factor is pooled up because the pressure factor has no significant effect to sheeter machine. Contribution percentage for error in Mean Taguchi Method and Variance Taguchi Method less than 15% means that there is no significant factor overlooked in these experiments. According to the production average response of F-ratio test with the confidence interval 95%, only roll speed–pressure factor that has the most significant effect for production speed in sheeter machine. The interaction between brakes frequency and roll speed and interaction pressure-brake frequency factor has no significant effect on the production speed in sheeter machine.
