Summary: | Sekolah Alam (natural school) is a school that in the learning process combines the use of technology, social interaction, and nature as a source of learning. Yayasan Sekolah Alam Bandung established Bandung Natural High School in 2015 on a land with rental status. This project is to design the site and the building for Bandung Natural High School on a land development with student (15-18 years old) and teachers (25-45 years old) as main users. Bandung Natural High School is located at Dago Pojok Street, North Bandung. Designed on 16000 square meters of land with a maximum built area of 4800 square meters. The project area was located beside the conservation forest of Djuanda Forest Park, and has the cikapundung river stream flowing through it. This supports the natural potential which is very good for the land. The main function that was accommodated in this process was teaching and learning with nature as the main learning resource function. The design concept of Bandung Natural high School is to create the whole area to become learning resources, both function and design. This is realized by creating primary and secondary interaction spaces as formal and informal learning facilities. The area is designed to follow the contours and maintain the existing vegetation so that its construction does not damage the natural conditions. The mass of many small size buildings have given the impression of them drowning in nature. The use of natural materials in the buildings also supports them to blend in with nature. |
