A company also have to treat employees in the workplace with human resource approach which is in accordance with the conditions of the company. This aims to facilitate the Human Resource (HR) Manager in making strategies so that they can be implemented in the company. Employees who already know their jobs will work hard to be able to contribute to the progress of the company. On the other side, company also have to fulfill the rights of its employees who have worked hard. This is important to make employees feel valued for the contributions that have been made for the company. The hospital is a health service institution that aims to provide care to people who need to recover physical or mental conditions that are sick. In the Bandung city, there are 29 hospitals consisting of public and private hospitals. The Muhammadiyah Bandung hospital is a privately owned hospital that was built in 1968. This hospital is located on Jalan K.H Ahmad Dahlan and has a vision to become a leading Islamic hospital in West Java. In realizing the vision of the hospital, hospitals need professional workers, one of them is nurses. Nurses are health workers who are licensed to be responsible for the hospital as a place to practice in providing health services to patients. Nurses are also individuals who most often interact with patients and their families in hospitals. Therefore, the existence of nurses is needed by the hospital to be able to treat patients until they recover. In current condition, the nurse retention rate at Muhammadiyah Hospital is high, this can illustrate the high level of commitment from nurses at the hospital. Based on these conditions, aims of this research is to identify factors related the retention rate of nurses in Muhammadiyah hospitals. In this research, the method used is quantitative methods carried out by distributing questionnaires as primary data to the nurse division for collecting data. This questionnaire consists of 20 question items and used a Likert scale of 1 to 5. The number of samples in this research is as many as 100 people based on theories from Hair et al (2013). The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. This sampling technique includes non probability sampling where sampling techniques are based on considerations determined by the researcher. In this case, the consideration put forward by the researcher to the sample respondents is nurse who have worked as permanent employees and had worked in Muhammadiyah hospitals for more than 1 year. In this research, the analytical methods used were validity test, reliability test, and factor analysis. The results of the analytical using the factor analysis method revealed that there were 5 new factors formed which related with nurse retention in Muhammadiyah Hospital Bandung. These factors are supportive environment, leader support, work task, work colleagues and feeling involved. text |
