Description
Summary:Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta is promoting mass public transportation development aimed at reducing congestion of its city. Blok M is an area that dedicated to an commercial areas that have a point of movement for some modes of transportation with the concept of TOD. Therefore, there is a need for transit facilities that can meet the needs of the passengers of MRT and Bus Blok M. This transit facility accommodates mass movement of people and the expected density of vehicles in Blok M area can be reduced. The project is assumed to be a collaboration between the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, the Government of DKI Jakarta, PT. MRT Jakarta and Agung Podomoro Land, with the aim to create an MRT-Bus transit facility that will accommodate transit activities as well as shopping activities for MRT and Bus passengers. Based on the results of user analysis, site, and precedent, it can be concluded that the main issue of this project is connectivity is how to connect between Blok M MRT Station, Blok M Bus Terminal, and the surrounding commercial area. Connectivity is what serve as a concept of Seamless Connectivity. It is analogized as an infinite circle that is viewed with a 3-dimensional context of a cylinder that resembles a water pipe or vessel that serves to drain the element. The analogy is used as the concept of building a mass of buildings that flows and directs the user to reach the destination point of transportation, and equipped with space that triggers the existence of commercial activity.
