Ageing is not an illness. It is, however, a life stage, which is characterized by the decrease of one’s ability to adapt himself / herself to his / her surroundings. The decrease in the ability happens to various organs, body function, and body system naturally. Although the ageing cannot be avoided, a human being may possibly slow it down and prevent it while enjoying a healthy, happy, and quality life. To maintain a healthy, active, and productive life, the elderly need some comforts to help them do their activities without any difficulty, with minimum effort, and safely. To make the best use of the interior elements in dealing with such activities, both the physical (senses and anthropometric aspect) and psychological factors restricting the activities of the elderly have to be taken into consideration. The method used in this study is the descriptive qualitative. This approach involves data collection, data development, and interviews. The descriptive method is used in analyzing the findings in this study. The analysis is done to organize the data so that can be transformed into individual interpretations that can be used to explain the phenomenon being studied. The result of the study shows that the productivity of the body of the elderly should be viewed not only from their needs to their physical surroundings but also from their proximity to another individual, which determine their health and life expectancy.
