Summary:PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) is the first and only aircraft industry in Indonesia and in the Southeast Asia Region. This company is owned by the Indonesia Government. PT Dirgantara Indonesia was established on April 26,1976. PT Dirgantara Indonesia engaged in aerospace manufacturing, aerospace design development and being a sub-contractor for major aircraft industries in the world. During the production process, there is a delay in completion of aircraft. This study aims to solve the problem that focus on inventory management of consumable item. Inventory model that will used for this study is fixed time period model (P) system with safety stock, this research begins with forecast for estimate demand or consumption for production process. This forecast using exponential smoothing to forecast consumption of sealant. Safety stock calculation is used with 95% of service level, review time to order sealant is set to 3 month and the last is calculation of fixed time period. This study also aims to optimization of inventory system in the company Existing inventory model in the company isn’t effective and efficient yet, because there is a stock out for sealant and create delay for 60 days and create opportunity lost Rp.437.456.278.000. with provided inventory system, the opportunity lost can be avoided, and create stable inventory for sealant to continue producing. First, forecast the consumption to estimate demand during the 3 month of review time and 5 month of lead time, then calculate safety stock with 95% service level, and calculate total order with (P) system with safety stock.
