FORECASTING AND INVENTORY ANALYSIS IN RAINCOAT MANUFACTURER FINAL PROJECT

The growth of motorcycle in Indonesia is rapid from the past years. This growth will not only affect the motorcyvle manufacturer, but also motorcycle accesories such as helmet and raincoat. PT Yolita Jaya is one of the raincoat manufacturer in Indonesia that producing raincoat from 1989. Currently PT Yolita Jaya is facing issue in the inventory and demand forecasting that affect their profit. PT Yolita Jaya Indonesia is still using naive method for their forecasting method to predict the demand. This research will be focused to propose solution for the problem through analysing time series forecasting that has the smallest error for the company which are simple moving average , simple exponential smoothing , winter’s model , and decomposition. After having the proper method, the data will be used to to calculate probabilistic model to determine safety stock and reorder point. Economic order Quantity will also calculated to maximize the order quantity. After that shortage cost and holding cost in a year is calculated for both company’s forecasting method and proposed method. The next step is calculate the total cost and compare both existing method and proposed method and it shows that the proposed method has lower cost.
