Description
Summary:Polyethylene oxide (PEO) is a polymeric material that has been widely used as solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) for all-solid lithium ion battery (LIB) due to its excellent chemical stability. However, its low ionic conductivity at room temperature can be a significant problem that hampers the performance of the LIBs. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), due to its amorphous structure, is one of the polymers that is expected to improve the ionic conductivity of SPEs. In this study, we added polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as a composite polymer to PEO based SPEs, with ion lithium source from LiOH to evaluate the charactheristic of PVA and PEO composite, with a varied amount of LiOH starting from 0 wt% to 10 wt%. SPE was synthesized with solution casting method to from a homogeneous transparant membrane. By adding ultrasonic process, has been successfully shorted synthesis time. Characterization by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and confirmed by Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), revealed the semi-crystalline properties of all samples. Thermogravimetry/Differential Thermal Analyzer (TG/DTA) has been used to confirm the thermal stability of SPE, revealed the transition glass at 73 °C of membrane SPE. Ionic conductivity of SPEs composites was determined through AC impedance measurement using Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS). Among all samples that were studied, the sample with 2 wt% LiOH revealed the highest ionic conductivity that reached 1,25 × 10-4 S.cm-1 at room temperature. Cyclic Voltammetry (CV) has been used to obtain window voltage of SPE, and its revealed window voltage from 1,5 V to 5,6 V. Keywords:
