Summary: | The synthesis of PVP fiber that has been loaded by the ECM was successfully carried out using the Neddleless Electrospinning method. This synthesis process is done by optimizing the process parameters first by using the PVP solution to find out the optimal parameters. In this optimization process is done by taking data on fiber diameter and the number of jets formed. Then in the PVP/ECM fiber synthesis process, a PVP/ECM solution is used with variations in the mass ratio of PVP and ECM; 10: 0, 10: 2, 10: 4, 10: 6, and 10: 8. When the ECM mass contained in the fiber increases, it will produce a greater number of jets and the diameter of the fiber which had decreased until then becomes increased in PVP/ECM variations 10: 6 and 10: 8. The results of the contact angle test of PVP/ECM fibers show that increasing the mass of the ECM in the precursor solution will result in greater contact angle values. The results of the Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) characterization showed that the addition of ECM to the PVP fiber caused a peak change of about 1020-1033 cm-1 indicating stretching C-O. Based on the XRD spectrum, ECM has an amorphous structure so as to produce PVP/ECM fiber which have an amorphous structure. The tensile strength test data shows that the diameter of the fiber affects the mechanical strength of the fiber. PVP / ECM fiber which has a smaller diameter, will produce better mechanical properties. The results of fiber synthesis using the needleless electric spinning method have succeeded in loading ECM into the PVP fiber while still having antioxidant content that has been proven by antioxidant testing with the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method. The results of this antioxidant test show that the more ECM content in PVP fiber, it will increase its antioxidant activity. |
