INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/41314 PT Toba Pulp Lestari, Tbk (TPL) is one of the producers of industrial pulp which uses trucks to transport materials from Industrial Plantation Forests (HTI). The location of HTI which is far from factory and large responsibility for the task can cause fatigue. This research was carried out to evaluate the mental workload of truck drivers at PT Toba Lestari, Tbk and provide improvement’s suggestions if the measurement results showed that the mental workload is high. Measurements were made using subjective methods, namely the National Aeronautics and Space Administration - Raw Task Load Index (NASA-RTLX) and Rating Mental Effort Scale (RSME). NASA-RTLX is a multi-dimensional scale method while RSME is a uni-dimensional scale method. This method is used because NASA-RTLX and RSME have high sensitivity to measure mental workload. The use of these two methods can determine differences and comparisons of mental workload measurement results. The results of the study indicate that the average mental workload of truck drivers using the NASA-RTLX method is in the range of 70. While the measurement using the RSME method is in the range of 90-107. Based on the results of both measurements it can be concluded that the truck truck driver's workload is high (overload). The proposed improvement for the mental workload of the driver is to do a precautionary test before duty, give a message to the driver, and reduce the physical workload of the driver. text |
