Summary: | Indonesia has 127 active volcanoes with more than 5 million residents living nearby. However, there are only 74 volcanic observation posts monitored these volcanoes by limited equipments. The development of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) allows volcano monitoring as well as transportation of Unmanned Ground Vehicle (mobile robots) to support the monitoring in volcanic areas. The UAV data then be processed using Pix4D Mapper into 2D and 3D map for ground deformation analysis of the volcano. The data was acquired by DJI Phantom 4 Pro which was automatically controlled by Pix4D Capture flight plans. The maps as the result have GSD between 1.61 cm/px until 3.81 cm/px with error less than 1%. The test result shows some shifts of the moving objects in the maps produced. Field test for mapping have been done in Tangkuban Parahu and Kelud Mountain. UAV growth technology also allows us to use it for other objects transportation such as robot. In this research, we have also developed a cage-shaped module (equipped with automatic doors, safety locking system, ultrasonic sensors and 360° servo motored pulley systems with 17 N cm torque) for mounting the objects. The mounting system is controlled and communicates through the Lolin NodeMCU v3 module with a WI-FI and GSM network using the MQTT protocol. The cage has been successfully tested for 50 cm moving upward of 9.27 kg payload with speed of 6.3 cm/s and downward with speed of 11.4 cm/s. |
