Summary: | On manual transmission or a conventional automatic transmission vehicle engines often
operate at a rotation that is not optimum. This is because the transmission system is still
composed of a number levels fixed speed ratio. Constant Speed Drive (CSD) is
hidromekanik transmission that can generate a constant rotation for vary input
rotation. CSD is able to change the ratio of input rotate with the output rotate automatically
and continuously. In other words, the CSD is a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT).
Stages of the research is to establish design requirements and objectives, (DR & O),
determine the specifications of the components of hardware, preparing the parts, build the
software, integrating hardware and software and conducting testing of the system of
design. The design result is a device CVT control system based on mechanism CSD
consisting of a microcontroller, H-bridge motor drivers, DC motor and display.
Results of tests and simulations show that the CVT control system capable of providing the
actual gear ratio (GRA) equal the ideal gear ratio value is the reference (GRR). Control is
done continuously in real time to follow every change in driving conditions. |
