ENTREPRENEURIAL INTENTION AMONG ITB ENGINEERING STUDENTS

This research is done to guide readers in observing the entrepreneurial intention of engineering students in Institut Teknologi Bandung. The desire to generate a new model that is representing the entrepreneurial intention of the campus is driven by recent issues asking for an escalation in engineering entrepreneurs on the path to be entrepreneurial campus. This research is done qualitatively by taking a small number of samples in exploring the data and variables taken from 20 random engineering students around ITB campus which were taking their 4th semester or more. This method has been considered as the most effective method to figure out accurate expectations from the interviewees without giving much psychological intervention that can induce refractions on the findings. Coding and analysis method are done by a simple arrangement and words grouping indicated from answers expressed better and clearer to be designed in to a model describing the connections between the data and variables. The result of this research is a new model developed from earlier studies and generated from the very actual and accurate data taken directly from the engineering students of Institut Teknologi Bandung itself. There are some variables seemed bold enough that most of the interviewees is giving similar answer among; being independent, avoiding risks, influenced by social environment, and lack of entrepreneurial insights. This research particularly held to support entrepreneurial movement in curriculum development of Institut Teknologi Bandung, and to be an early step for future benefits as well.
