In an effort to find the cause of the failure is to use forensic engineering as one of the investigative method choices to find out the causes of failure. Many literatures describe the steps in conducting a failure investigation process, these steps include: determining the purpose of the investigation; gathering background information, and preliminary reviews of documents; preliminary field reviews and eyewitness interviews; formulate an investigation plan to form an investigation team; collect and review documents; site investigation and sample collection; theoretical analysis; laboratory analysis; stakeholder analysis related to the implementation of development from the initial planning to the operation and maintenance of the building; determination of the responsibilities and portion of losses that must be borne by each party due to failures; develop a hypothesis of failure, synthesis of information resulting from analysis, and the formation of conclusions; accompanying lawyers and giving testimony in court as expert witnesses; and write an investigation report. This study aimed to find the factors that caused the collapse of the hanging corridor in the IDX building using the forensic engineering approach in order to explain the failure process that occurred in the BEI tower II building. In achieving its objectives, what is done in this study is to conduct a direct review of the location and collect various secondary data such as electronic articles, photos and videos of the failure process, as well as an initial failure investigation report. The information derived from secondary data will be compared with the results of previous research and also structure analysis will be carried out by doing a simple model to determine the collapse process. text
