Baby Boomer is a generation of hard-working people who are about to retire. Knowledge is an important asset for an organization so it is important to pass on that knowledge to other employees so that knowledge is not lost to retirement. PT. X is an aircraft company that in danger to experience loss of knowledge because many Baby Boomers will retire. This is an impact from delay in the management of knowledge carried out by the company which has led to a vacuum of transfer of knowledge. This study aims to identify the causes of delays in the process of sharing knowledge at PT. X and find solutions to overcome the cause. The research model used is a development from the Theory of Reasoned Action model by using expected rewards, self-competency, and happiness in helping others as factors of the project. The research method used is a combination of qualitative and quantitative method. Qualitative method is carried out by interviewing employees of PT. X and the quantitative method is carried out by conducting surveys with 33 respondents from across generations. The results found that every generation has a very high level of intention to share knowledge. This discovery reveals that the root cause is not from the employee as an individual but lack of top management involvement in managing knowledge. The main solution is to get top management more active in getting involved in knowledge management. text |
